Breathe & Let it Flow!

Since August 2011 at 5 a.m. on MWF, you can find me conducting bootcamp that typically kicks off with a 1.5 to 2 mile run. It never fails that we hit uneven terrain and the inclines seem to take out my bootcampers. Shucks, last year I hit an unexpected ‘mini-mountain’ mid-way during a 5k, that almost took me out; so I can truly relate. When these inclines seem to master my bootcampers, I take the necessary time to {show and} tell them to BREATHE {STOP HOLDING YOUR BREATH}…inhaling and exhaling for a count that seems to work. It’s amazing. I call it “finding your zen or meditative state”. Let’s face it, we all have had moments that take our breath away, in a “panting-cannot-breathe-make-it-stop” kind of way; however, once you learned to slow your breathing, the matter at hand seemed more manageable. I’ve learned that when we simply BREATHE & Let It Flow, life gets better…and that includes the exercises at that particular time.
